Should i buy a surfboard and wetsuit even though i haven't started surfing yet?

so tubes, a shop that sells all surfer gear and stuff is having a massive clearence sale soon and even though i haven't started learning to surf yet i have been planning on doing it in the summer. The question is should i buy a good surfboard thats cheap now or should i wait till i start to see what i like or something.
