Snorkeling equipment?

I am looking to get into snorkeling and scuba diving...wondering what I should start out with. It would be recreationally but I still want quality equipment like a mask, wetsuit,snorkel.... Anyways looking to spend a reasonable amount not too expensive. I know it depends on a lot of things but I am just looking for ideas.
